You can perform batch geocoding on a custom set of points (addresses) using the Address Manager Web Service. When you upload a set of points, the Address Manager returns geocoded locations for storage on your local server. From there, you can make the data available to other applications.
The Address Manager accepts your points as a set of street addresses. You can provide the set of points either through SOAP or a Web page. The SOAP–interface lets you pass in up to 100 addresses at a time and get back matches along with match quality information. The Web–interface lets you upload a DBF file of addresses along with some identifying information and download the locations as a DBF file.
The Address Manager Web Service includes the following capabilities:
http://arcweb.esri.com/services/v2/AddressManager.wsdl
https://arcweb.esri.com/services/v2/AddressManager.wsdl
Note: HTTPS is available if you need added security to call ArcWeb Services. The Authentication Web Service and other ArcWeb Services must be accessed with the same IP address for the authentication token to be valid.
